Meet Shelby Stiefel, our lead photographer and editor.
From transforming our sports media days, product photography, and capturing the essence of our client's events in a singular photo, she has played a pivotal role in shaping the visual narratives that define our brand for the past year and a half.
What’s your favorite project you’ve ever worked on?
I really love working on stop motions! It’s a new skill I learned and I really enjoy the detail work and creativity.
What sparked your interest in photography, and how did you get started in the field?
I started interning for an electric guitar company 11 years ago in their marketing department just doing basic product cutting out in photoshop. I started slowly learning about product photography and eventually that turned into me becoming their lead photographer and editor. Outside of work though, I fell in love with photography in college when I started shooting engagement sessions and portraits for family and friends. When I saw how happy it made them with capturing their memories they get to keep forever, it made me realize I want to keep capturing those moments.
If you could travel to any destination for a photography expedition, where would it be, and what would you hope to capture?
There are way too many places I want to go to but I think it would be awesome to be on a photography expedition with National Geographic photographer Jimmy Chin, documenting people doing different summits and climbs. I love that his work involves two of my favorite things: photographing people and hiking.
If you were able to photograph any fictional character, who would it be and where would you photograph them?
Shooting film photography with Sean O Connell from Secret Life of Walter Mitty.
What is your go to editing snack?
I’m a sucker for chips a-hoy!
